Drowning Effect
As a kid I loved the escalators. You know those people movers at the mall that take you from one level to another. Even today when I see one I just want to run up in the opposite direction. You stand at the bottom, time the steps coming to you, grab the black railings and start running. Run like you can beat the stairs. Now for an eight year old boy that's next to impossible. I'd say you just couldn’t do it. I have also found that life is a lot like that. We are constantly running and pushing against powerful pressures at work, in life and against dark forces. Just like those escalator stairs that keep coming at you; it's impossible to keep fighting back. The hits keep on rolling down on you. Even when you stop and catch your breath and try again you face failure over and over again.

I like to call it the "drowning effect." You can't do enough. You’re loosing the battle of life. You’re drowning in an ocean of doubt and discouragement. In Ephesians 2: 8-9 the answer is clear. We are saved by grace--Faith in the gift of Jesus Christ. Failure is not an option when I remember the victory of Jesus. Jesus owns my victory over diet. He did it for 40 days in the desert and still didn't make bread for himself when tempted; I would have. Jesus owns my victory over the crabby, mean people in my life. Not once did the poppas Pharisees discourage Him. Jesus owns my victory on the cross. He died my death on the cross. He established victory over my sin, Victory over my death, victory over my devils and Victory over my miserable life. Jesus has climbed the impossible stairs of life and had victory. Jesus lived the perfect life for you and me. Jesus offers His victory to you. What a gracious gift. Will you accept Jesus life as your life right now? Don't waste time! You’re missing out!

Say it out loud and let the world know, "Jesus is the victory in my life." No more saying, "I think I can.” We say, "I know Jesus has, I am in Christ." No more saying, "I hope I'm saved and have victory." We say, "I know I'm saved and have victory.” When we do as Romans 10: 7-13 we WILL move from the fog to the Sonshine. Confess with your mouth and you will believe in your heart. Psalm 118:14 "The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation." KJV

Jesus has conquered the world. Jesus is the only victory in my life. In Him and through Him we have victory. Now that's good news!
