Hey kids, here’s a great idea for a Bird Feeder you can make in just a few minutes! It’s simple, and the birds will love your treat! Think about ways you can add your own special touch, too!

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Donut-shaped cereal – like Cheerio’s (but it’s probably not good to give them the sugar-covered variety)
- Yarn
Instructions:
- Cut off a piece of yarn – probably a couple of feet long, and tie one end around a pencil, pen or something that will keep your cereal from falling off the end.
- Next, string the cereal onto the yarn until the whole string is filled up.
- Untie the pencil at the end, and tie the ends of the string together.
- Hang your Bird Feeder String from a branch outside a window, and watch as your feathered friends come in for a treat!

Optional:
- Try rolling your finished cereal string in peanut butter (but be careful not to make a mess!)
- If you have a large needle, thread the yarn onto it, and try “sewing” some apple chunks or cranberries with your cereal. Use your imagination, but be sure that it’s healthy for the birds!
