If you live somewhere near pine trees, you’ll really
like this craft! But be sure to spread out several newspapers before messing
with glue and glitter! Your mom will appreciate that!
|
|
|
What you’ll need:
|
|
|
- Pinecones – lots of them. The big ones are the best
- Plastic zip-lock bag
- Glitter
- White Elmer’s-like glue
|
|
|
What you do:
|
|
|
- Make a thin mixture of glue by
mixing 2 parts glue with 1 part water in a shallow container.
- Prepare your glitter (you can
use several different colors, or mix them together) and put it in your
zip-lock bag.
- Roll your pinecones in the
glue, or paint it on the edges with a brush
- Put your pinecones in the
plastic bag and zip it up
- Shake your pinecones so the
glitter sticks to the glue.
- Remove your pinecones and let
them dry on newspaper for at least an hour
- Be sure to wash your brush with
warm water and soap, so you can use it again.
Options: You can tie a pretty thin ribbon to each of the
pinecones and hang them on your front door, or arrange several pinecones in a
bowl as a pretty centerpiece on your dinner table. Take a few twigs of
pineneedles and stick them in between the cones. If you manage to get some
balsam twigs, the smell is simply wonderful!
