Hey Kids, here’s a great idea for a Spring Hat! It’s easy
to make and it’s lots of fun! Check it out, make one, and take a picture
of it to send to me! I’d love to see it!

What you’ll need:
|
|
|
- A paper plate
- Construction paper in several colors
- Green Crayons, markers or paint
- Glue
- Scissors
|
|
|
How to make it:
|
|
|
- Color both sides of
your paper plate with green paint, markers or crayons.
- Cut a slit through
the middle of your plate, being careful to leave about an inch at each
edge of the plate as shown. Cut three more. Check and make sure that the hole will fit
your head – adjusting the lengths of the slits if you need to.
- Push up the little
triangles you’ve made and bend them into place. You’ll have
something that looks like spikes coming off the top – those are the
“grass” and “stems” for your
“flowers.”
- Cut some paper
“flowers” out of your construction paper. Maybe some tulips,
some daisies, or whatever you want! Use your imagination. God made lots of
shapes, and so can you! You may want to combine different colored
construction papers, too – like putting a bright yellow center on a
blue flower. Glue them to your flowers before you put them on your hat.
- Glue your flowers to
your “hat.” You can add ribbons to the back, or use other
things like glitter to dress it up.
- Take a picture and
send it to us!
