- Make a cone out of
your square piece of paper (pretty side out)
- Making sure the
bottom part is closed tight, secure the edges with tape or your sticker
- Punch a hole in the
back of your cone and tie your ribbon through it in a loop
- Fill your Spring
Flower Basket with your flowers (even dandelions will do!). Don’t
forget to put a sprig of green leaves in for color.
Variations:
Small baskets are nice, too! You can make them
prettier by lining it with a scrap of fabric, or anything else you can think
of.
Even a tin can will do! Paint it (make sure and let it
dry), and then punch two holes in the top rim with a nail, so you can tie your
ribbon through it in a loop. This is especially good if you don’t think
anyone’s home, since you can put some water in the bottom of the can to
keep your posies alive longer!
Use your imagination. An empty cakemix box? Try using
a scrap of border paper around it, folding the edges over. A small plastic
bottle? Make a hole in the top and hang it with ribbon, too! Anything goes, so
be creative!
Make as many baskets as you want, then find someone that needs a little
cheering up! Neighbors, maybe grandma, or even a total stranger! Before you
hang your Flower Basket on their doorknob, make sure you have a great place to
hide and watch their reaction! Then hang the flowers, knock on their door (or
ring the doorbell), and run and hide! You’re sure to see some surprised
smiles! And it’s a great way to let them know someone cares!
