Hey kids, here’s a great craft you can make with just a few simple things. We like to call him “Mr. Rooster,” because he reminds us of Tammy’s story about the exotic hen that turned out to be a rooster! (See the November ’07 version of 3ABN World Magazine).

What You Need:
- 1 six-inch paper plate
- sheet of red construction paper
- sheet of yellow construction paper
- 1 wiggly moveable eye
- 1 paint mixing stick, or similar stick - to serve as a handle
- glue
What You Do:
- Fold the piece of red construction paper in half and draw around your hand. Then cut out your hand shape and cut the two pieces apart. These will be the rooster’s crest and wattle! Glue these on the back side of the paper plate at the top and bottom.
- Fold the yellow construction paper in half and draw a small and tall triangle. Cut it out and then cut the two pieces in half. These are the upper and lower part of the rooster’s beak! Glue them on the front of the plate.
- Take your wiggly moveable eye and glue it on your paper plate, close to the edge – where the rooster’s eye would be if he’s ‘looking forward.’
- Glue the paint mixing stick (handle) on the bottom of the plate. Enjoy Mr. Rooster!
- Think of other animals you can make with similar materials. What about making an “exotic” rooster? Got any ideas?
