Hey kids, here’s a great idea for a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table! Get your mom or dad to help you with the cutting part, but we think you’ll really enjoy this one!
  What You Need:
  • crookneck squash (with a little stem still attached)
  • sharp knife
  • tape
  • waxed paper
  • cardboard
  • ice pick
  • whole cloves
  • colorful fall leaves
  What You Do:
  1. Wash and dry your squash, and cut off the bottom so your goose stands flat.
  2. Ask an adult to help you cut the stem of the squash at an angle to make it look like a beak.
  3. Use your ice pick to make holes for the eyes, then insert the whole cloves.
  4. Use a piece of cardboard large enough to put your geese on as a centerpiece.
  5. Cover your cardboard with waxed paper and tape down the edges on the bottom.
  6. Put your geese on the waxed paper, and then lightly glue the leaves down around the base, covering your cardboard with pretty fall colors. Be sure not to get glue on your table, and keep the geese on the board so it doesn’t ruin the wood finish or stain the table cloth.
  7. Place it in the middle of your Thanksgiving table and enjoy the wonderful food the Lord has provided you!

P.S. When you’re done with your Thanksgiving meal, you can use the geese for food, too! (You might want to take the cloves out first!)
