Department Head: J.D. Quinn has been a member of the 3ABN Pastoral staff since February 2005. Although he is a fourth-generation Seventh-day Adventist, J.D. recognizes his personal relationship with the Lord has “increased one-hundred fold” since serving in this capacity. He has an earnest desire to share scriptural encouragement and usher hurting people before the throne of the Master Physician for the healing only God can give. His education in counseling, medicine, and business administration—combined with his compassionate heart and God-given people skills—makes us thankful J.D. answered God’s call to join our Pastoral staff. J.D. and his wife Shelley are a God-send for 3ABN.

Hal Steenson was a Charismatic Pastor for over twenty years before
accepting the truth of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1995, Hal
left his church and later began to follow the Lord’s leading, desiring
to surrender completely to Him. On December 25, 1999, Hal along with
his wife Mollie and son Jeremy were
baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Thompsonville,
Illinois. He has served in numerous areas of ministry at 3ABN, but has
found the Pastoral Department to be his life’s calling because of his
Pastor’s heart. He is well versed on his past biblical inaccuracies and
takes calls from people looking for God's answers to tough questions.
Hal is referred to as “the mover and shaker” of the Pastoral staff and
is gifted with organizational skills that can make things happen. Hal
considers himself blessed to be a part of a great Pastoral team that is
placed in concert by God to meet the prayer needs of hurting people.

The 3ABN Pastoral Department is pleased to have Grace Yost as part of their team. Joining 3ABN as a volunteer in 2003, she is now fulfilling a childhood desire to work for the Lord. She brings with her a talent for writing, touched by the Holy Spirit, she expresses the love, compassion, and tenderhearted character of Christ on paper. Grace responds to thousands of emails with encouragement and hope. Her kind, cheerful, and willing ways make her precious to those around her. Grace loves to bless the lives of hurting people everywhere; she claims that through her ministering to others, she receives the greater part of the blessing. It is indeed an honor to have Grace and her husband Don here at 3ABN to help “mend broken people.”

Joe O’Brien was raised a Catholic. But at the age of nineteen, he broke with tradition and began a twenty-four year search for a church that taught the Bible, the whole Bible. During this twenty-four year search through many churches, Joe also studied and practiced transcendental meditation, astrology, numerology, palm reading, biorhythms and the use of the Qui-ja board. Later he was introduced to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and set out to disprove their doctrine as well. In his quest for truth he was astonished to find how the Holy Spirit had blessed this church. The Seventh-day Adventist Church provided answers to questions no other church could answer. Today he shares these Bible truths with all who are willing to listen. The O’Brien family is a blessing to their local Seventh-day Adventist church where Joe is an Elder, his wife Nancy is the Christian school Principal and his daughter Kalie leads out in music and worship. Joe O’Brien came to 3ABN in 1999 and has been a God-send to the pastoral staff.

Larry Welch and his wife, Lynda, joined the Seventh-day Adventists Church in July of 1980. Soon after joining the church, Larry became a literature evangelist for the Illinois Conference. He served in that capacity for three years. In 1983 he surrendered his life to the Lord’s call and served as Pastor for several Seventh-day Adventist churches over the next seven years. In 1984 he was elected to the 3ABN Board of Directors and has been faithful to that position for over twenty one years. After serving as a Pastor and a board member for six years, Larry joined the 3ABN team full time and accepted a position in the then fledgling Pastoral Department. Now Larry is once again serving in the same department he helped establish and using his twenty five years of experience to minister to our callers.

After much prayer by our Pastoral team, the Lord has brought
us. Pastor Richard Pinero. Pastor Richard is an SDA minister, married

Pastor who works with and for Jesus in supplying the spiritual needs of the
saints, equipping them to present Christ to the un-reached. His passion is to
win souls for Christ through Bible studies and public evangelism, and to teach
others to be effective soul winners for the kingdom. Welcome to our team Pastor

Kevin loves the
Lord, he gave his heart completely to God at the age of 21. After graduating
from college with a degree in religion and art, he worked as a staff member at
a crisis intervention center for five years. It was here that he learned how
much he enjoyed working with people who were experiencing traumatic stress and
behavioral issues. From this experience and his love for the Lord, we see that
Kevin has a burden for lost and troubled souls. We are fortunate to have
Kevin in our Pastoral department. He brings in a youthful spirit. Kevin is
married to Tara, an RN and they have three young children. Kevin is an elder at
our local Thompsonville
Seventh-day Adventist
Church and enjoys
teaching Sabbath school and accepts preaching engagements to some of the local
churches. Kevin has been working at 3ABN since 2006.
